NITW Americas Alumni – The Bay Area Chapter
The NITW Bay Area Chapter serves as the original foundation and a key regional hub for the NITW Americas Alumni Association (formerly RECW). Silicon Valley is where the overarching Americas organization was born—first launched during a regional alumni meet in the Bay Area in 1999, before securing its 501(c)(3) non-profit status in 2001.
While the organization has since expanded to active chapters across the United States, the Bay Area continues to play a vital role in executing nationwide initiatives and fostering local alumni connections.
Key Bay Area Chapter Initiatives & Activities
Annual Alumni Meetups
We host yearly gatherings for social, cultural, and professional networking, bringing together alumni across generations.
Visiting Delegations & MOUs
Facilitate high-profile visits for NITW leadership and faculty to Silicon Valley companies and universities. For example, in November 2019, the chapter hosted the NITW Director, Dean of Alumni Affairs, and senior professors to help establish institutional MOUs.
Technical Seminars & Entrepreneurship
Organize executive talks, tech panels, and investor sessions featuring venture capitalists, industry executives, and distinguished alumni.
Support for Alma Mater Projects
Drive local fundraising and volunteer participation for broader institute initiatives, such as student scholarships, research funding, faculty exchange, and campus facilities, including the 3D Printer Lab established in January 2026.
