NITW Americas Chapter – Summary

The NITW Americas Alumni Chapter was launched at the first Americas Alumni Meet on October 9, 1999, in San Jose, commemorating 30 years of National Institute of Technology Warangal. What began with 115 enthusiastic alumni grew rapidly to more than 1,000, including 212 lifetime members—reflecting strong engagement across the Americas.

Mission is to serve as a strong bridge between NIT Warangal and its alumni in the Americas by fostering connection, collaboration, and meaningful institutional support.

Alumni-Funded 3D Printing Lab Upgrade

NITW Americas Alumni, along with the 1989 Batch, funded and installed advanced equipment in the Mechanical Engineering Department’s 3D Printing Lab—strengthening innovation and hands-on learning.

Scholarship Sponsorships

Sponsored numerous scholarships over the years to support deserving and financially challenged students.

Research & Conference Support

Supported faculty and researchers for paper presentations and conference participation in the U.S., enhancing global academic visibility.

Enabled philanthropic and project-based funding from U.S.-based alumni to support institutional priorities.

Alumni Family Support

Facilitated financial assistance from U.S. alumni to support families of alumni who passed away and needed help during difficult times.

Solar Water Heaters at NITW Ladies’ Hostel

A Dallas-led alumni initiative supported installation of a solar water heating system at the Ladies’ Hostel—creating sustainable, student-focused impact.

Newsletter Initiative

Led by Ram K. Iruvanti, Jags Porandla, Ram Gangaraju, and Balaraj Pudota to enhance engagement, transparency, and collaboration.

In the Pipeline

  • Research funding commitment from a former Microsoft senior leader
  • $10,000 commitment from Srinivas V. Atluri to support a performance lab
  • Alumni-supported SAP course aligned with the Director’s vision
  • Expanded industry panels to strengthen placements and alumni connects
  • Ranking promotion initiative backed by U.S. alumni sponsorship

Together, the NITW Americas Chapter continues to convert alumni goodwill into measurable impact for NIT Warangal.
